Update: still crying about Final Fantasy XIII

The Final Fantasy XIII Series has helped hundreds, if not thousands of people, through a hard or rough time. I know that, because people have talked about the games just being there for them. They can relate to the characters and feel safe. This is absolutely touching to me. It’s wonderful. This game is so important to some of us. 

This game came out in 2010. Four years ago. I can clearly remember waiting in line with my Dad, anxiously awaiting to have the game handed to me. I wasn’t even the one who heard about. My Dad was and he told me about it. So he pre-ordered it, just for me. He said he knew I would love it. I did. I was ten-years-old when I first played it. 

I spent two years finishing the game. I didn’t give up on it. I just wanted to finish it, and see if my favorite characters got their happy ending. I didn’t do my homework at all, until I finished the next chapter. It was a game that I was always looking forward to playing when I got home from school. I got frustrated, but I never quit. 

In 2012, Final Fantasy XIII-2 was released. I was ecstatic. This series has always kept my head up, no matter what. When I panic or am scared of something, I just remember what Lightning always said:

“It’s not a question of can or can’t. Some things in life, you just do." 

These games have brought not just me, but thousands of others to tears. I cried for hours after I finished the first game. I was so sad, yet so wonderfully happy. I knew this wonderful group of heroes and heroines would get their happy ending. 

Square-Enix has done such an amazing job of creating games. They’re always trying something new and exciting! Their games are always something to look forward to!

The musical score of Final Fantasy XIII is stunning. It is nostalgic, rhythmic, and just wonderful to listen to no matter when or where. Every time I listen to this wonderful music, I’m always brought to tears. It’s so peaceful and breath-taking. 

Square-Enix has done a wonderful job of listening to the fans throughout the series. They have improved the battle systems, the gameplay, almost anything that fans were complaining about. The transition from the first game to the second was amazing. They listened to the fans and made the games much less linear after hearing the fans. 

They have touched us with this promising story that has taught us so many things. This story is so gorgeous and filled with so many characters who all deserve so much for all the hardships they’ve had to go through. 

Everyday I know that I have to keep those who I love and care about close. I don’t want to lose them. I don’t want them to slip past me without noticing, because I just didn’t care enough to show them how much I loved them. 

I’m fourteen now. Every night, every day closer to the final installment of the Thirteen Series, I just think to the past of how much this series has impacted me. 

When Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is released, I will truly realize how much this series meant to me. It means the world to me. I will cry and I will be sad. But this series will stay with me forever. These characters have helped me grow in so many ways. I appreciate everything this series has ever done for me. 

In five days, I will finally come to the end. The end of this beautifully, bittersweet story. It’s the end. I have loved every single one of these games to no end. I will always adore these games, no matter what. 

These games will be with me forever.

Sometimes everything you know in the world turns out to be a lie. But at the end of the day the lie isn’t what matters, it’s what you do after you tell it. If you work hard enough you can make it true.
